Isathal 10 mg/g Eye Drops (formerly known as Fucithalmic Vet) is a viscous, sterile ophthalmic suspension specifically licensed for veterinary use. Powered by the potent antimicrobial active agent Fusidic Acid, it targets and eliminates bacteria responsible for external ocular surface infections.
- Sustained-Release Formulation: Its specialized viscous base ensures prolonged retention within the conjunctival sac. This means steady antibiotic levels are maintained, reducing the frequency of applications compared to standard drops.
- Target Species & Indications:
- Dogs: Topical treatment of conjunctivitis associated with Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius.
- Cats: Topical treatment of conjunctivitis linked with secondary staphylococcal infections.
- Rabbits: Topical treatment of conjunctivitis associated with staphylococcal infections. [1]
- Key Administration Details: The standard regimen is typically one drop instilled into the affected eye(s) once or twice daily, as directed by a veterinary professional. Treatment must be continued for at least 24 hours after clinical signs resolve.
